What is AZGV
The purpose of Arizona Gay Volleyball Association (AZGV) is to foster local, regional, national and international sports competition predominately for gays, lesbians and anyone dedicated to promotion of the amateur athletic experience for persons of all skill level and abilities regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, creed, religion or national origin. The primary focus of Arizona Gay Volleyball Association will be to provide venues for adult volleyball competition. Additionally, the organization will endeavor to develop people of all abilities and experience to participate in sports competitions.
AZGV offers and organizes 3 outdoor sand volleyball leagues. A 6-man format, with an A, B, and C division. A 4-man format, with an A/B and B/C division. A 2-man format, with an A and B division.
Where and When we Play
Games are played at Indian Steele Park, located off Central Avenue and Farrington Lane just north of Indian School Road (300 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85012), at The Wyndham Gardens (formerly The Radisson Hotel City Center as well as Phoenix Place Hotel), located off 2nd Avenue just north of Osborn Road (3600 North 2nd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85013), or at Margaret T Hance Park located off Central and Culver Street above the I-10 freeway (1134 North Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85004).
The 6-man format A division plays at Indian Steele Park on Monday nights. The 6-man format B division plays at the Wyndham Gardens on Monday nights. The 6-man format C division plays at Indian Steele Park on Monday nights. The 4-man format A/B division plays at Indian Steele Park on Tuesdays nights. The 4-man format B/C division plays at Indian Steele Park on Tuesdays nights. The 2-man format A division plays at the Wyndham Gardens on Sunday afternoons. The 2-man format A division plays at the Wyndham Gardens on Sunday evenings. The The particular location designated for each division depends on the size of the division and board member coverage for that particular season.

Team fees are $80 for Tuesday night teams with up to 6 on the roster and $90 for Monday night teams with up to 8 on each roster and $50 for Sunday afternoon teams with up to 4 on each roster. Fees are due before the start of every season. Teams must pay online via PayPal or with certified payment (cashiers check, money order, etc). To pay via PayPal, please use our convenient payment page. Please make certified payment payable to Arizona Gay Volleyball Association.
For the Summer season, registration opens in person at the season kickoff party on on May 19, 2016 at 7:00 pm at The Rock (4129 N 7th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85013). You may register online starting the day after the season kickoff party. All fees are due by May 27, 2016.
Only 9 teams will be allowed in each of the 6-man (Monday) divisions except the 6-man (Monday) C division which will be allowed 11 teams. Only 8 Teams will be allowed in the 4-man (Tuesday) night division. After this, a waiting list will be created. Registrations will be accepted in order of the teams that pay. Only teams that have paid will be allowed to play.

Season Kick Off Party
We will be having the Summer season kick off party on May 19, 2016 at 7:00 pm at The Rock (4129 N 7th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85013). Join us to celebrate the league, help the new players get integrated onto teams, meet your board members, and get your questions answered about any league changes.
Thanks for everyone that came out to The Rock for the Summer season kickoff party. We had a blast meeting you all and registering teams. We are looking forward to a great season!
We will be having the end of the Summer season awards banquet on August 22, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Wyndham Garden Hotel (3600 N 2nd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85013). We hope you all can make it.
Board meetings are usually held the third Tuesday of the month. Anyone that is interested is welcome to attend these meetings. The next board meeting will be July 19, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Indian Steele Park (300 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85012).
